Elance.com, a global online staffing platform, has recently published its Global Online Employment Report Q1 2013 that puts Ukraine to the Top 3 Freelancer countries by year-on-year (YoY) earnings growth together with India and the United States (see picture below).

According to the Report, in Q1 2013 Ukrainian freelancers’ cumulative income has increased by 25%-50%. Since the platform’s launch in 2006 Ukrainians have earned almost $39 million in all job categories with IT accounting for $36 million and graphics design, copywriting and blogging accounting for $2 million.
As of today, Elance.com counts over 15,000 registered Ukrainian freelancers of which almost 10,000 are involved in IT. As such, Ukraine ranks 9 and 12 globally by the number of available IT and design and multimedia freelancers respectively.

As estimated in 2012, Ukraine ranks 4 among the Top 10 countries with the best-paid freelance consultants. By the income level, Ukraine is ahead of the UK, Russia, Canada, China and the Philippines and is only behind the USA, India and Pakistan. While the average hourly rate of Ukrainian freelance consultants is $16, IT freelancers normally charge on average $22 per hour.
