Neustar, Inc., a TransUnion company, is a media intelligence platform that helps marketers to analyze and optimize the efficiency of their campaigns. The company is headquartered in Reston, VA, USA, with a robust global presence providing businesses worldwide with the authoritative identity tool for gaining valuable marketing insights.

In partnership with Neustar, Intersog developed PlatformOne, a data intelligence tool that identifies and segments potential buyers across social platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, identifies trends in media, quickly analyzes the efficiency of the marketing campaigns, and evaluates audience metrics.

Challenge

As mentioned above, the cooperation between Intersog and Neustar lasted for a decade. Over that time, we’ve encountered a variety of challenges and had to implement all sorts of improvements and updates to keep the platform relevant and fully functional. 

Our cooperation started in 2007, and the main challenge then was to develop a new report manager and update the legacy web application based on the Aggregate Knowledge Discovery Engine. The legacy application sufficed for a time, but it was getting outdated by the day, and for that reason, Aggregate Knowledge needed some substantial changes. As you can tell, that was just the beginning of a fruitful partnership that was one of the longest we’ve ever had.

2007-2008

• Developing the new version of the app built on Spring WebFlow and Hibernate to form a single system ORM.
• Improving the system's speed and productivity using JasperReports.
• Reworking the initial UI using AJAX, adding new interactive elements, and changing the fundamental outlook of the web portal.
• Integration of Yahoo YUI, Open Flash chart, and FlowChart to create an intuitive visualization of the reports.
• Updating the Onsite and Ad Platform AK tools and transforming the system’s architecture to match contemporary standards.
• Modifying the access level system by implementing iBatis/MyBatis technology.
• Updating the app using the Apache CXF framework.

2009-2010

• Migrating the database from the old MySQL to the updated PostgreSQL.
• Creating the new framework for report creation based on the SOA and the cluster architecture using the Truviso system as the basis.
• Introducing the Big Data system based on Java 6.0, Spring Framework, Apache CXF, Apache POI, iBatis, and Velocity for processing gigabytes of data daily.
• Updating the UI to automate the Aggregated Knowledge system’s structure.
• A new web app based on the SnowFK framework with the app interface built on HTML5/CSS3 in conjunction with AJAX and JQuery.

2010-2012

• Complete automation of the QA testing using the Selenium framework.

2013-2017

• Conducting support and providing regular updates to the system.
