Despite the ongoing political crisis, Ukraine has a great potential to become a new powerful hub for IT services exports in Europe, and is likely to grow its annual IT outsourcing turnover to over USD 10 - 15 billion (from today's USD 1.5 billion) in the years to come. That's what Ukraine's Ambassador to the United States said while presenting a new strategic IT initiative of the Ukrainian government in Washington a few week ago. This initiative suggests that Ukraine creates around 100,000 new workplaces for IT specialists by 2016, and starts developing the local Cloudsourcing market. For this to happen, it plans to attract over USD 1 billion in foreign investments this year. This money will mostly be spent on modernizing the national IT education and aligning it with the actual business needs.
